About Orchid:
Orchid is a suite of open source tools and cryptographic protocols developed and run by people who want the internet to extend our natural human freedom, not curtail it. Our initial focus is an open marketplace for bandwidth built on Ethereum, and a VPN client for all major operating systems. Multi-hop routing connects multiple relays and adds security at each step.

Orchid began two years ago and the initial founding team includes Seven Waterhouse (Co-Founder of Pantara Capital, board member of Bitstamp and Co-Founder of RPX which he took public), Brian Fox (the author of Bash Shell for Linux, 20+ years of open source contribution), Jay Freeman (the author of Cydia, the App Store for jailbroken iPhones and Impactor software for the iPhone), Gustav Simonsson, white hat hacker and ex-security researcher for the Ethereum Foundation) to create a decentralized VPN.

This event is hosted at Starfish Mission. Starfish Mission is a hub for emerging tech communities with a focus on blockchain/Web3 and AI, based out of the mid-market area in San Francisco.
