  • starfish mission 1535 Mission Street San Francisco, CA, 94103 United States (map)

Schedule:

6:00 Networking
6:30 The ETH 2.0 Prysm Client with Terence Tsao

Ethereum 2.0 has been worked on for years, and has undergone innumerable iterations. It's a massive re-architecture of the Ethereum platform, involving new components such as proof of stake-based consensus, sharding, a WebAssembly-based VM, and more. These changes, if successful, will provide significant boosts to Ethereum's security, scalability, and decentralization. This event is the first of a multi-part series on ETH 2.0 and the Prysm client.

Terence from Prysmastic Labs (https://prysmaticlabs.com/) will present a high-level overview of ETH 2.0's current architecture, the progress it's made recently, and upcoming developments . His talk will cover topics like the deposit workflow, the beacon chain state transition, the LMD GHOST fork choice rule, and how finality gets achieved. The talk will cover multiple aspects of ETH 2.0, and will stay at high level for each topic but can dive into detail on any particular topic if there's sufficient interest from the audience.
